The Electrolux door nearly complete
When Loretta Blake was approached to paint a fridge door to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Electrolux she didn’t realise the weather would pose as the great challenge.
Seven artists, including local artists, Loretta, Ted Blake and Eris Fleming have been invited to add their style to the fridges to be auctioned off in September, with proceeds to benefit the Orange Regional Museum.
In the creation of Loretta’s work was the cold. “its a stainless steel fridge door and it is too freezing to paint”. Having painted the door Loretta has taken to using a hairdryer to get the temperature to the 20 degrees required to seal the artwork.
